This Biloxi Lugger was known as the “Lady Renee”. She was built in 1947 in Bayou La Batre, Alabama, she worked the Gulf for several years. She was a privately owned and beloved Family working boat. The finished piece is a result of a commissioning by the Captains surviving Daughter who had seen some of our hand made boats and other nautical items about various online forums and groups. Upon seeing the customer provided photo’s and other documentation it became clear that there was a lot of fine detail work that would be needed to make the piece really work, Both in appearance and function, it had to properly balance suspended from a necklace. (which is not included by the way)

Am very pleased that we were able to accomplish both and with permission we are now offering a replica of the piece for sale to the public. Its a larger piece, she measure’s 1-1/2″ tall x 1-3/4″ wide. There’s a lot of sterling silver and a lot of detail about the vessel including the big Ice box on the fan tail where I’m sure many a soda was iced down but most importantly, there’s a life ring on the side of the pilot house, and if it were just a little bit bigger, It’d bare the name, LADY RENEE.

Thank you Marcia for entrusting such a wonderful bit of your life’s story to us.
